100% Organic Baco Noir
Sultry aromas of black fruit, damp forest soil, and licorice are followed by flavours of spiced, cooked cherry and fleshy plum with a whisper of green on the finish. Rich and velvety on the palate with a pop of mouthwatering acidity and subtle, soft tannins.
Baco Noir was planted throughout the Okanagan Valley in the 1970s for its hardiness and disease resistance. Most was pulled out in the late ‘80s to make way for the classic European grape varieties. Our neighbor Elmer Eidse kept his. Now these old vines are managed organically to create this delicious wine that is a living history of the British Columbia wine industry. 2019 was a moderately cool vintage in the Okanagan Valley, yielding red wines of balance and freshness.
The wine fermented in a 10,000L oak foudre. Fermentation completed naturally, leaving a hint of residual sugar in the wine. Bottled young and fresh!
Food Pairing Notes
Grilled meats, Italian-style dishes, hamburgers, or with a good book next to a cozy fireplace!

Excellent wine for the price. Rich and full of flavors and easy to drink. This was a hit at the recent dinner party I went to. Thanks the staff (Alex) for recommending it!

Can you tell me if it is possible to buy 2006 Baca noir?

I am a grape enthusiast for over 40 years and had read about the 'Baco Noir' long ago, but could not find anyone making wine from it. Wow! Summerhill has done a fantastic job! The 2016 vintage I just tried was so flavorful, with just enough tannins to give it body without any of the bad (headache) phenolics. Kudos to the folks in the vineyard for growing this magnificent grape with a fascinating history and to the winemaker for turning them into such a fine wine. Best red I've had in a while!

I have been drinking Summerhill’s Baco Noir for several years now. It is hands-down my favourite wine, especially delicious during the cold winter months with its bold, full flavours. It’s a bottle of comfort!

J'ai trouvé une vieille bouteille de 2008 que j'ai bue avec des amis hier au dîner. WOW! Mis en carafe quelques minutes, on avait le meilleur vin pour accompagner un bœuf braisé.

I can’t believe I have found the most amazing red wine I have ever tasted. So smooth it’s almost unbelievable. By far the most amazing red wine I have ever tasted. Summerhill you have done it again.

We were visiting Kelowna from Myrtle Beach, SC a couple of weeks ago for our daughter's wedding. While there we took the Wicked Wine Tour and Gerry brought us to Summerhill. We had a wonderful lunch and purchased a bottle of your Baco Noir which we had at your wine tasting. We drank it with grilled lamb, Greek lemon roasted potatoes and a tomato, onion, feta cheese salad. It was perfection!
