Organic/Biodynamic
Producing wine organically has a very meaninful benefit to protecting the environment, and some scientists are suggesting that consuming organic food has a meaningful benefit for our health, too.
Summerhill is committed to producing 100% organic wine. Our Kelowna vineyard is now in the process of applying for our Demeter Biodynamic certification. About 80% of the total grapes used in our production are certified organic, and the rest are in a transitional organic status on their way to being certified. In 2007, we achieved certified organic status in the production cellar, so we can now proudly display the Canadian certified organic logo on our labels, and you can be sure that you are consuming wine that is produced in harmony with nature.
